Conversations in the Global Classroom
This post features an opinion piece discussing the challenges and opportunities provided by classrooms that are composed of a diverse and international group of students. Global classrooms offer spaces for intercultural conversations that can challenge dominant ideas and perspectives. At the same time, they can also present challenges for educators who must navigate the myriad of perspectives in a culturally-sensitive manner and foster class discussions. The author illustrates these challenges and opportunities through the case study of her literature class at New York University Abu Dhabi.
